Virden Pioneer Home Museum has partnered with The Virden Area Foundation to established this permanently endowed Manitoba Heritage Trust Fund to support their work.
The Manitoba government established the Manitoba Heritage Trust Endowment (MHTE) Fund to stretch gifts to Heritage Trust Funds. Each gift has the potential to be stretched by up to 50 per cent.
A visit to the museum acquaints guests with the way of life of an established Victorian family in the Canadian West. The Museum houses a large selection of artifacts generously donated by local area community members which depict a family home in the Victorian era and the volunteer board members continue to maintain the building and the preservation of all the artifacts it encompasses.
The Winnipeg Foundation will generate the tax receipts for all gift directed to this fund under the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. Gifts to this fund are invested in perpetuity and the annual income generated for grantmaking is distributed to Virden Pioneer Home Museum to be used at their discretion.
